Defining the Online Integrated Purchasing System
-Purpose/Goal/Objectives and Succinct Definition
Project Purpose/Goal:
To address the needs outlined in the Needs Statement (Step 1) by providing all campuses with a modern automated, integrated purchasing system that allows for integrated ordering, budget approval and encumbering, order placing, tracking, receipt and accounting.
Major Objectives include:
- Develop a list of specifications and functionalities required for a system
- Deploy a non-binding RFP
- Analyze the cost of building a system based on one of several models that have been developed within the system.
- Chose between a vendor provided or in-house developed system
- Acquire, install, train and implement in new system
Succinct Definition:
A modern automated, integrated purchasing system that allows for integrated ordering, budget approval and encumbering, order placing, tracking, receipt and accounting.
