CIS Mission and Role

The Center for Information Services (CIS) is a public entity responsible for providing information technology support services to the Washington State Community and Technical Colleges and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC).

CIS's mission and purpose are to:

  • Develop, acquire and support a common suite of administrative applications including financial, financial aid, payroll/personnel, and student management systems for use by the colleges.
  • Provide consistent and consolidated reporting on behalf of the college system to satisfy state and federal mandates.
  • Aggregate the collective purchasing power of the colleges for cost-effective access to technology products and services.

CIS works cooperatively with the colleges to establish service levels and provide the resources necessary to support the colleges' administrative computing functions.
