What is the CAR Initiative?
The CAR (Competitive Advantage Reclamation) Initiative originated at a CIS Executive Committee meeting in early 2007 when discussing Phase 2 of the Re-Hosting project. After a series of facilitated sessions and meetings, the resulting recommendation was to develop a modular approach to re-engineering administrative systems.
The CIS Executive Committee agreed to fund testing the concept of rapid application development and deployment (either build or buy) along with embarking on business process re-engineering of an administrative process (Admissions/Enrollment) and an organization assessment of CIS. The CAR Initiative explores and tests models for supporting the CTCs now and in the future. A key criterion for identifying initial CAR projects is to include solutions that are student-facing.
