The K-20 Education
Network is a wide area network (WAN) that links the
K-20 public schools, two-year colleges, and four-year colleges in
the State of Washington. This web page contains links to information about
the K-20 Education Network that applies to the K-20 system in general.
It also contains links to information about the sector of the K-20 network
that is used by the community and technical colleges. This sector, also
known as CTCNet, is managed by the Center for Information Services (CIS).
The current Internet
provider for the K-20 network is the Pacific Northwest GigaPOP.

Obtaining Help
for K-20 Problems
- To
obtain emergency help, call
1-888-934-5554
Use
this number to obtain emergency help and information during major outages
on either the data or video networks. During such situations, information
will be updated every half hour for the first two hours and hourly after
that. When calling this number, press the pound (#) key to skip over
messages.
- Obtaining
help for K-20 network problems
- CIS staff provide
the following support services for the K-20 network:
- Configure routers
and CSU/DSUs on the K-20 WAN and make changes as needed to maintain
and improve performance.
- Monitor the
performance of the K-20 WAN in order to make recommendations for
upgrades.
- Work with phone
companies to resolve leased circuit problems.
- Troubleshoot
noncircuit related problems using methods that minimize the impact
on colleges.
- Assist colleges
with configuration of their routers.
- Keep the code
for K-20 WAN routers up to date and provide colleges with access
to the updated code so they can keep their campus routers current.
- Arrange with
vendors to provide cost effective network training for the colleges.
